Durchaus eine musikalische Pilgerreise.

Die talentierte Musikerin Petra Nachtmanova macht sich auf eine Reise von Berlin bis ins legendäre Khorassan auf der Suche nach dem Ursprung ihres Instruments, dass sie in Kreuzberg kennengelernt hat. Auf dem Weg stellt sie immer eine Frage: "Kannst Du mir ein Lied beibringen, dass ich zurück nachhause mitnehmen kann?"

It’s the journey of her life: Petra Nachtmanova journeys to both the end of the world and the centre of her heart. Saz on her back, the Berlin musician heads off in search of the origins of a string instrument tangled in myths, which found its way to her in the streets of Kreuzberg.

She travels from Berlin to Istanbul, through Anatolia, over the snowy peaks of the Caucasus and into the dusty desert of eastern Iran. She meets Bosnian instrument makers, music teachers who climb mountains in suits and chain-smoking Turkmen who possibly invented blues rock. She has one request for each encounter: ‘Play me a song that I can take home with me’. First she meets skeptical amazement. Then enthusiasm. And finally, deep trust.

"Saz" is a film about the power of music and the scope of the world, simultaneously a road movie and a quest for meaning, a breathtaking trip in the border region between Europe and Asia, which shows that despite conflict and crisis, there is a human everyday life out there, as well as something special that holds us together.

Nicht ganz das Thema, aber vielleicht ähnliche Fragestellungen, deshalb hänge ich den sehenswerten Kurzfilm einfach mal hier dran.

Im Sommer 2019 bin ich auf dem Colorado Trail gewandert, um herauszufinden, warum ich wandere. Dies war ein unabhängiges Projekt und der Film wurde von mir selbst gefilmt, geschnitten und geschrieben. Es war eine Herausforderung, die gesamte Videoausrüstung in meinem Rucksack zu tragen, aber ich hatte eine Vision und ein Ziel – ich wollte meine inneren Gründe festhalten, warum ich wandere und warum ich immer wieder zum Fernwandern zurückkehre.

Vielleicht hat der Film nichts mit pilgern zu tun, aber mit der Frage, schnalle ich auf meiner Wanderung 50 kg oder 100 kg Gepäck auf meinen Rücken.

When loaded, the wooden carrying frames used by the so-called ‘Tatra Sherpas’ weigh up to 100 kilos or more. The porters climb up to 2,000 meters with their loads, supplying essentials to remote mountain huts in the Slovakian national park.

Dale Sanders, known as Grey Beard, is setting out to reclaim his record as the oldest person to hike the entire Appalachian Trail. He has 12 months to complete the roughly 2,190-mile trail for it to count as a thru-hike record – and is on track to finish in time.

Cool! Das beruhigt mich, zu denken, dass ich auch mit 90 noch ein paar coole Routen machen könnte.

Ja, "Grey Beard" ist wirklich inspirierend, auch wenn man jünger ist und vielleicht vor seiner ersten coolen Route steht.
Auf jeden Fall kann er, nachdem er gestern den Appalachian Trail beendet hat, erstmal etwas kürzer treten.
